AquaMax G390SS
The Aquamax G390SS is probably the No. 1 choice in gas storage hot water today for large families. It's an ideal replacement for most 135 to 170 litre gas hot water systems on the market.
It is locally made right here in Victoria by Rheem. It has a 155L stainless steel cylinder and has a high efficient burner and flue/heat exchange system that allows water to be heated much quicker than a conventional gas storage hot water.
It also has an ingenious manual delivery water mix valve on the water inlet/outlet assembly. Normally set by us during installation, the valve is adjusted so hot water mixes with cold water to manually provide a set delivery temperature. As an example, the water temperature inside the storage cyclinder may be 75°C, however after setting the mix valve, the hot water delivery temperature may actually be 55°C.
NOTE: This is not to be confused with a Tempering Valve, that is an added valve by the plumber that reduces outlet water temperature to a safe level and works on temperature. It is a safety device and is required by regulations in some newer homes.
155 Litre tank but it's called a 390 you ask? This model Aquamax utilises the mix valve and a bit of common sense of giving the unit rest breaks between showers, in a one hour period depending on settings and use,the system has potential to provide 390 litres of hot water.
