Rinnai Error Codes? What do they mean? Who to call?
Some newer style Rinnai heaters, built from around 1996 on may have a self diagnostic system incorporated into their computer (PCB).
If your heater is malfunctioning, you may witness some flashing numbers in the digital timer display. Some customers just think it is the temperature flashing, but in fact it is an error code and it relates to a particular fault.

The error code will usually display in a control similar to this.
11. May indicate gas supply or ignition fault. 12. May indicate poor gas supply or ignition fault. 14. May indicate an overheating problem. 99. Possible flue fault.
In all of the above cases, stop using the appliance and book in a service call with us or your local Rinnai repairer. There are more than these codes, but these are the common ones. Most times a simple service will rectify the fault. Click here to book in a service.
TIP. Get your heater serviced well before winter, best time is between November and the start of March. Everyone says they will, but they never do!
